University of Jyväskylä-এর বর্তমান Artificial Intelligence master’s degree-তে 36 ECTS compulsory thesis-studies block আছে: TIES5011 Research Methods in Computer Science, 3 ECTS; AIAS5001 Master Thesis Seminar for IMDP AI students, 3 ECTS; AIAS5002 Master’s Thesis, 30 ECTS; এবং AIAS5003 Maturity Test, 0 ECTS। TIES5011 ও AIAS5001 Pass/Fail, AIAS5002 grade 0-5, এবং AIAS5003 Pass/Fail। 2024-2028 curriculum-এর জন্য AINMP2024 / AIADV route-ই current programme-specific thesis pathway।

1. বর্তমান degree হলো Master of Science

Artificial Intelligence হলো Faculty of Information Technology-এর 120 ECTS, দুই বছরের, English-language Master of Science programme। Current Study Guide route হলো AINMP2024, যার curriculum period 2024-2025 থেকে 2027-2028 পর্যন্ত। AINMP2024 identifier দেখে এটিকে 2024-এ শেষ হওয়া curriculum ভাববেন না। Thesis registration ও planning-এর জন্য current Study Guide এবং current course object ব্যবহার করুন।

2. AIADV হলো current advanced-studies module

Current Advanced Studies in Artificial Intelligence module হলো AIADV, scope 96+ ECTS। Programme data-driven AI, knowledge-based AI, এবং autonomous ও responsible AI-এর ওপর competence তৈরি করে। এগুলো disciplinary pillar, কিন্তু একটাই thesis architecture impose করে না। Faculty rules অনুযায়ী approved topic empirical research, systematic literature work, constructive/developmental work বা article-based route-এর মাধ্যমে develop হতে পারে।

3. Compulsory thesis studies মোট 36 ECTS

Degree-তে project ও thesis-support course থাকায় thesis block ভুলভাবে বড় করে দেখানো সহজ। Exact compulsory thesis studies হলো TIES5011 3 ECTS, AIAS5001 3 ECTS, AIAS5002 30 ECTS এবং AIAS5003 0 ECTS। XENB0007 Master’s Thesis Support, 2 ECTS communication and language studies-এর অংশ, 36 ECTS thesis block-এর অংশ নয়। Sisu plan এবং guide description-এ এই boundary আলাদা রাখুন।

4. TIES5011 thesis-এর আগে research-method literacy তৈরি করে

TIES5011 Research Methods in Computer Science, 3 ECTS, Pass/Fail computer-science research methodology-এর central area, scientific activity-এর foundation, research process-এ method-এর role এবং ethically sustainable research cover করে। Method literature, reading-circle activity এবং completed MSc thesis evaluate করার মাধ্যমে course thesis work-এর প্রস্তুতি দেয়। এটি একটি mandatory AI method-এর checklist নয়; বরং কোন research question-এ কোন method defensible তা বিচার করার training।

5. TIES5011-এ sustained participation দরকার

Current implementation-এ ছয়টি reading circle, তাদের reporting-এ contribution এবং discussed method ব্যবহার করে ছয়টি MSc thesis-এর individual evaluation থাকে। ফলে এটি একবারের final assignment নয়, বরং weekly work require করে। BSc thesis prerequisite হিসেবে listed। Course-টি ব্যবহার করুন evidence, design, analysis, validity ও method justification compare করতে, কারণ IT Faculty পরে master’s thesis assessment-এ এসব dimension explicitly evaluate করে।

6. AIAS5001 হলো programme-specific thesis seminar

AIAS5001 Master Thesis Seminar for IMDP AI students, 3 ECTS, Pass/Fail master’s studies-এর final stage support করে। Topic selection, literature search ও analysis, research method selection, research plan development এবং thesis component presentation এর অংশ। Seminar-এর আগে topic thesis supervisor-এর সঙ্গে agreed এবং Head of study programme দ্বারা approved হওয়ার expectation আছে। উদ্দেশ্য broad AI interest-কে executable thesis plan-এ রূপ দেওয়া।

7. Seminar-এর empirical-part wording carefully পড়ুন

Current AIAS5001 description-এ empirical part-এর design and implementation আছে। এটি seminar-এর জন্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ wording, কিন্তু এখান থেকে “সব AIAS5002 thesis empirical হতে হবে” এমন universal rule বানানো ভুল। Faculty of Information Technology আলাদাভাবে empirical, literature-review, constructive/developmental এবং article-based master’s thesis permit করে। Final thesis form current Faculty rule, approved topic এবং supervisor-agreed design অনুযায়ী হবে।

8. AIAS5001-এর readiness expectation আছে

Seminar bachelor degree, এমন up-to-date study plan যা thesis start-এর এক বছরের মধ্যে graduation সম্ভব করে, এবং topic ও supervisor নিয়ে অন্তত preliminary planning expect করে। IMDP AI student-এর জন্য TIES4570 Cognitive Service Development Project prerequisite। Current completion-এ active seminar participation, weekly homework এবং final presentation লাগে। Seminar-কে working thesis environment হিসেবে দেখুন, AIAS5002-এর replacement হিসেবে নয়।

9. AIAS5002 হলো controlling 30 ECTS master’s thesis

AIAS5002 Master’s Thesis, 30 ECTS, grade 0-5 হলো programme-specific thesis object। এটি English-এ independent study হিসেবে completed হয়। IT Faculty master’s thesis-কে written academic work হিসেবে describe করে এবং 30 ECTS-কে প্রায় ছয় মাসের full-time study-এর সমতুল্য ধরে। Thesis-এ justified research problem বা development task define করে coherent scientific project হিসেবে কাজটি শেষ করার competence দেখাতে হয়।

10. Technology develop করলেও scientific grounding লাগবে

Current Faculty learning objectives scientific source obtain, interpret, synthesise ও critically analyse করা; previous research ও theory বোঝা; suitable research বা development methodology select ও apply করা; methodological choice critically evaluate করা; research ethics ও good scientific practice মানা; result prior knowledge-এর সঙ্গে relate করা; scientific reporting করা; এবং পুরো research/development process manage করা require করে। Working model, system বা application একাই thesis নয়।

11. Empirical research একটি valid thesis route

Empirical research-based thesis empirical data এবং relevant scientific method ব্যবহার করে previous research ও theory-এর সঙ্গে linked well-founded result তৈরি করে। AI context-এ research question অনুযায়ী experiment, benchmark data, simulation, user study, system measurement বা অন্য evidence ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারে। Current sources সব empirical thesis-এ new model train, deep learning use বা benchmark beat করা mandate করে না। Method research problem দিয়ে justify করতে হবে।

12. Literature-review thesis-ও সম্ভব

IT Faculty literature-review thesis permit করে, কিন্তু এটি papers-এর simple narrative summary নয়। Review systematic ও comprehensive হতে হবে এবং accepted literature-review বা mapping methodology ব্যবহার করতে হবে। Faculty significant original contribution-ও expect করে, যেমন new model, framework বা novelty-bearing synthesis। Search strategy, inclusion criteria, analytical framework এবং original contribution শুরুতেই plan করুন, যাতে work reading notes নয়, assessable research হয়।

13. Constructive বা developmental thesis permitted

Constructive/developmental thesis software, algorithm, model, method বা material-এর মতো artefact develop করতে পারে। Artefact-কে prior research-এর সঙ্গে link করতে হবে এবং effectiveness বা functionality evaluate করতে হবে। AI student-এর জন্য এটি বিশেষ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ, কারণ technical system বানানোই পুরো thesis মনে হতে পারে। Faculty framework অনুযায়ী development task, scholarly context, methodology এবং evaluation একসঙ্গে coherent thesis হতে হবে।

14. Article-based thesis-এর additional condition আছে

IT Faculty stated publication ও workload condition পূরণ হলে article-based master’s thesis permit করে। Route-এ Faculty threshold পূরণকারী এক বা একাধিক scientific article এবং literature-review introduction থাকে। Student-এর independent ও significant contribution identify করা সম্ভব হতে হবে, এবং total workload normal thesis ECTS-এর সমতুল্য হতে হবে। Paper co-author হলেই AIAS5002 automatically complete হয় না; current Faculty condition verify করতে হবে।

15. Pair ও dual-degree arrangement special case

Faculty guidance jointly written thesis এবং dual-degree arrangement-ও specific rule-এর অধীনে recognise করে। এগুলো default route নয়। অন্য student বা institution-এর সঙ্গে project share করলে authorship, independent contribution, supervision এবং assessment arrangement substantial work শুরু হওয়ার আগেই establish করুন। JYU-এর formal evaluation process-এ individual contribution assessable থাকা জরুরি।

16. TIES4570 Cognitive Service Development Project thesis নয়

TIES4570 Cognitive Service Development Project, 15 ECTS, grade 0-5 হলো compulsory advanced-studies project যেখানে team business idea থেকে design, implementation এবং cloud launch পর্যন্ত cognitive service develop করে। Teamwork, testing, service audit, report, public defense, business model ও IPR arrangement এর অংশ। এটি thesis topic generate করতে পারে এবং AIAS5001 prerequisite, কিন্তু AIAS5002 নয় এবং 30 ECTS thesis replace করে না।

17. Project work thesis-এ যেতে হলে নতুন scholarly design দরকার

Useful TIES4570 result supervisor-এর agreement অনুযায়ী thesis background, research artefact, case বা empirical platform হতে পারে, যদি thesis-এর নিজস্ব justified research/development task থাকে। Existing code বা project idea reuse করলে literature, methodology, evidence, evaluation ও scientific reporting-এর requirement disappear করে না। Group project থেকে কী এসেছে এবং individual thesis-এ genuinely নতুন contribution কী, তা clear করুন।

18. Deep learning compulsory coursework, universal thesis method নয়

Programme-এ TIES4910-এর মতো compulsory deep-learning ও cognitive-computing content আছে, কিন্তু তাই বলে প্রত্যেক thesis-এ deep neural network use করতে হবে না। AI thesis symbolic reasoning, knowledge representation, agent systems, system evaluation, responsible AI, literature synthesis, AI software engineering বা অন্য approved problem নিয়ে হতে পারে। Curriculum-এ popular model family আছে বলে নয়, research question answer করার জন্য method select করুন।

19. Knowledge graph ও agent thesis level-এ optional

Current compulsory studies semantic web, linked data, collective intelligence এবং agent technology cover করে। এগুলো student-কে multiple AI paradigm-এ কাজের foundation দেয়, কিন্তু প্রত্যেক AIAS5002 thesis-এ RDF, ontology, knowledge graph, autonomous agent বা multi-agent system use করতে হবে এমন rule নেই। Programming language, framework বা cloud platform-এর ক্ষেত্রেও একই কথা: current registered sources thesis-এর জন্য কোনো এক universal technology stack impose করে না।

20. Responsible supervisor early stage-এ খুঁজুন

IT Faculty thesis process responsible supervisor appointment ও topic approval-এর মাধ্যমে শুরু হয়। Responsible supervisor-এর doctoral degree থাকতে হবে এবং University of Jyväskylä-তে employed হতে হবে। Thesis-এ additional supervisor থাকতে পারে, including specialised external expertise, কিন্তু formal responsible-supervisor rule বজায় থাকে। AI student-দের intended thesis start-এর অনেক আগে supervisor খোঁজার recommendation আছে; seminar পর্যন্ত অপেক্ষা করে topic ও supervision unresolved রাখা risky।

21. Centralised AI thesis-topic list নেই

Current AI guidance অনুযায়ী একটিমাত্র centralised Artificial Intelligence thesis-topic list নেই। Student faculty teaching, research group ও research profile দেখে সম্ভাব্য supervisor identify করতে পারে এবং instructors-এর সঙ্গে networking করতে পারে। Research group কখনও current thesis topic offer করতে পারে, এবং study advisor help করতে পারে। Topic ও possible commissioning entity বেছে নেওয়ার যথেষ্ট freedom আছে, তাই company partnership programme-wide compulsory নয়।

22. Topic-এর পাশাপাশি supervision process-ও agree করুন

Responsible supervisor ও topic ঠিক হওয়ার পর working research question বা development task, thesis type, expected evidence, milestone, feedback rhythm, data/ethics responsibility এবং কোন draft formal submission-এর জন্য ready হবে তা agree করুন। Faculty 30 ECTS thesis-কে প্রায় ছয় মাস full-time work-এর সমতুল্য ধরে, তবে actual calendar time research design, data access, employment ও other studies-এর ওপর বদলাতে পারে। Early supervision agreement scope control করতে সাহায্য করে।

23. IT Faculty grading framework cumulative

IT Faculty research problem, topic ও earlier research familiarity, execution ও method, critical assessment, interpretation/reflection, scientific reporting এবং overall research/development processসহ multiple criteria-তে thesis assess করে। Criteria cumulative: higher grade পেতে lower-level quality-এর সঙ্গে additional strength দেখাতে হয়। Thesis accepted হওয়ার জন্য প্রতিটি evaluated criterion-এ অন্তত satisfactory grade-1 level meet করতে হবে।

24. Final grade arithmetic average নয়

Examiners-এর proposed overall grade individual criterion score-এর simple mean নয়। Faculty guidance অনুযায়ী proposed overall grade level-এ অন্তত অর্ধেক evaluated criterion পৌঁছাতে হবে। Grade 2 ও 4 ব্যবহার করা হয়, যদিও published matrix-এ তাদের আলাদা descriptor নেই। Examiner assessment-এর ভিত্তিতে Faculty process অনুযায়ী Vice Dean final thesis grade নির্ধারণ করেন।

25. Strong technical result missing research foundation compensate করতে পারে না

Technically impressive model বা system automatically high thesis grade দেয় না। IT criteria দেখে problem meaningful ও justified কি না, previous research ও concept comprehensively handle করা হয়েছে কি না, method objective-এর সঙ্গে align কি না, data/evidence carefully handled কি না, result criticalভাবে interpreted কি না, এবং scientific report coherent কি না। Grade 5-এর জন্য বিশেষভাবে strong justification, literature command, method-evidence alignment ও analytical discussion দরকার।

26. AIAS5003 হলো programme-specific maturity object

AIAS5003 Maturity Test (MSc), 0 ECTS, Pass/Fail current Artificial Intelligence maturity-test course। Graduation-এর আগে maturity examination mandatory এবং এটি thesis topic familiarity ও applicable language competence demonstrate করে। General JYU maturity instruction student-এর educational background ও earlier language demonstration অনুযায়ী language route নির্ধারণ করে। অন্য JYU programme-এর maturity code copy না করে AIAS5003 ব্যবহার করুন।

27. Human-user data personal-data obligation তৈরি করতে পারে

AI research interview, usability study, log, platform identifier, behavioural trace, image, audio, location-derived feature বা person-related অন্য information ব্যবহার করতে পারে। JYU identified বা identifiable living person-এর information-কে personal data হিসেবে ধরে। Online identifier এবং contextual information-এর combination থেকেও ব্যক্তি identify হতে পারে। Independent graduation research নিজের purpose-এ করলে student সাধারণত data controller, তাই collection-এর আগেই processing plan করতে হয়।

28. Pseudonymised data এখনও personal data হতে পারে

Direct identifier code দিয়ে replace করলেই dataset anonymous হয় না। Key, rare attribute, timestamp বা linked record দিয়ে re-identification সম্ভব হলে material personal data-ই থাকতে পারে। AI project-এ high-dimensional dataset obvious identifier remove করার পরও identification risk carry করতে পারে। তাই access control, retention, deletion, participant information এবং re-identification risk বাস্তবভাবে document করুন; “anonymous” শব্দটি default assumption হিসেবে ব্যবহার করবেন না।

29. Ethical review conditional, automatic নয়

JYU human-sciences ethical review TENK principles অনুসরণ করে। প্রতিটি project ethically conduct করতে হবে, কিন্তু formal prior committee review তখনই লাগে যখন applicable criterion meet হয়। শুধু human user আছে বলে প্রতিটি AI study automatic review require করে না। তবে significant intervention, vulnerable group, sensitive context বা অন্য TENK trigger থাকলে early stage-এ requirement check করুন। Prior review প্রয়োজন হলে relevant data collection শুরু হওয়ার আগেই তা নিতে হবে।

30. Dataset, code ও derived output-এর জন্য Data Management Plan ব্যবহার করুন

JYU Data Management Plan collection, use, storage, reuse ও disposal-এর পাশাপাশি legal/ethical issue, rights, responsibilities, documentation, metadata এবং security cover করে। AI thesis-এ raw data, labels, preprocessing output, model checkpoint, code, configuration, evaluation result ও documentation থাকতে পারে। কোন material share করা যাবে, কোনটি restricted, এবং legal/ethical/contractual সীমার মধ্যে reproducibility কীভাবে support করা হবে তা plan করুন।

31. AI thesis-এ AI tool ব্যবহার করলেও JYU AI rules প্রযোজ্য

Artificial Intelligence subject study করা University-এর assessed-work AI rules থেকে exemption দেয় না। Relevant AI assistance transparently report করতে হবে, AI output scientific source নয়, এবং factual accuracy, analysis, citation ও final text-এর দায় student-এর। AI system suggest করা claim original source দিয়ে check করতে হবে। Personal, confidential বা restricted research material unapproved AI service-এ upload করবেন না।

32. Citation ও accessibility formal thesis obligation

JYU paraphrase ও direct quotation-এর ক্ষেত্রে source indicate করতে বলে এবং selected citation style consistently follow করতে বলে। Current registered AI sources সব thesis-এর জন্য এক universal named style edition, যেমন APA, establish করে না। Final online thesis accessibility requirement meet করতে হবে। Document structure, figure, table, alternative text এবং final PDF/A workflow early stage-এ plan করুন, last-minute conversion হিসেবে নয়।

33. Vasara submission মানে thesis final

JYU Vasara ব্যবহার করে master’s thesis submission, evaluation ও archiving-এর জন্য, এবং Faculty of Information Technology Artificial Intelligence student-দের general return-for-review process follow করতে বলে। Vasara-তে submit করা file final assessment version হতে হবে। Applicable Turnitin check submission-এর আগে complete করতে হবে, এবং confidential background material public thesis থেকে remove করতে হবে। Formal submission-এর পর assessed work-এ normal editing available থাকে না।

34. Two examiners এবং response rights assessment process protect করে

JYU Degree Regulations অনুযায়ী master’s thesis-এর জন্য দুই examiner nominate করা হয়, যাদের অন্তত একজনের doctoral degree থাকতে হবে; second examiner supervisor হতে পারেন। Examiners evaluation statement ও grade proposal দেন, সাধারণত final submission-এর এক মাসের মধ্যে। Final grade-এর আগে student examiner statement-এর response দিতে পারে এবং applicable rule অনুযায়ী final decision-এর আগে assessment interrupt করার অধিকারও আছে।

35. Approved thesis public academic work হয়ে যায়

Evaluated master’s thesis current workflow অনুযায়ী JYX publication archive-এ যায়, এবং master’s thesis public academic work। তাই confidentiality early stage-এ plan করুন। Company, research group বা external data provider restricted material দিলে public thesis-এ enough method, evidence ও reasoning থাকতে হবে যাতে protected information প্রকাশ না করেও academic assessment সম্ভব হয়। Accepted thesis graded হওয়ার পর শুধু grade বাড়ানোর জন্য rewrite বা retake করা যায় না।

36. Topic, method, seminar ও final review ঘিরে timeline বানান

Reliable sequence হলো TIES5011 দিয়ে method literacy strengthen করা, compulsory AI studies ও TIES4570 complete করা, feasible topic এবং qualified responsible supervisor early identify করা, এবং AIAS5001-এ এমন অবস্থায় প্রবেশ করা যেখানে study plan ও thesis direction ইতিমধ্যে shape নিচ্ছে। Seminar-এ literature, method ও research plan develop করুন; AIAS5002 period execution, analysis, evaluation ও writing-এর জন্য reserve করুন। Supervisor review, Turnitin, maturity requirement, accessibility এবং Vasara submission-এর জন্য শেষ দিকে সময় রাখুন।

37. Final Artificial Intelligence checklist

Sisu-তে current AINMP2024 / AIADV route এবং exact 36 ECTS thesis-studies package আছে কি না verify করুন। Topic ও JYU-employed doctoral responsible supervisor confirm করুন, thesis type explicitly choose করুন, এবং deep learning বা favourite tool stack default না করে research/development method justify করুন। TIES4570 ও AIAS5002 আলাদা রাখুন; data collection-এর আগে privacy ও ethics plan করুন; DMP maintain করুন; AI-tool use document করুন; cumulative IT Faculty criteria দিয়ে work self-check করুন; AIAS5003, Turnitin ও accessibility requirement complete করুন; এবং final assessment version-ই Vasara-তে submit করুন যাতে JYX publication process সঠিকভাবে এগোয়।
